Mars Attacks Ak Ak Ak Funny
Synopsis
Nice planet. We'll take it!
'We come in peace' is not what those green men from Mars mean when they invade our planet, armed with irresistible weapons and a cruel sense of humor. This star studded cast must play victim to the alien's fun and games in this comedy homage to science fiction films of the '50s and '60s.

The Martians aren't the bad guys. They destroyed the political class, the capitalists, the generals, and the media so that the Earth could be inherited by service and transit workers, blaxploitation icons, gamer teens, and Tom Jones.

It's like Independence Day if it shit itself.

it is insane that I was allowed to see this in a theater at the age of 10

none of this would've happened if they'd sent amy adams to communicate with the aliens just sayin

"Don't run, we are your friends."
I'm perfectly happy with this being not much more than an excuse for Burton to indulge in shtick, chintzy design, and pastiche. As such I'm also pretty comfortable calling it his last good movie.

"They blew up Congress! Ha ha ha ha!"
Mars Attacks! is maybe a tad messy and unfocused, but with an ensemble cast like this, it's a small price to pay for a total joy-buzzer of a sci-fi riff. Bursting to the brim with movie stars - to the point that it's impossible to single anyone out - and led by Tim Burton's undiluted love for flying saucer films, this is absolutely the greatest 'alien invasion' movie from 1996. From the countless green and red skeletons, to the eye-popping costuming by icon Colleen Atwood, to the continuous sense of mischievous fun, Mars Attacks! has aged remarkably well. Not just as a devious mid-90s spectacle, eager to melt the flesh off…

Don't let logic get in the way of a good time. If you accept what you're seeing is batshit crazy, it's quite a good movie, and bold especially at a budget of $70 million. This has one of the best casts ever assembled in a single film. You will never see anything like this.

Always wanted to see this as a kid but my parents would never let me. Maybe if I had I'd have some nostalgic appreciation for it. More likely, it would have scared piss (sic) out of me.
Every night as a kid after my shower, I would run out of the bathroom out of fear that there'd be an alien outside the window. Siblings made fun of me for it: not cool!
Anyway, Jack Nicholson stunt cast is a misfire. He is boring. People seem to enjoy him here, but they're actually wrong (sorry to people). Beyond him being "Jack Nicholson" he's just slowing things down! Whole movie kinda slow! But glad it exists. I always thought the aliens were puppets…
